Sensory Profile
A Sensory Profile Assessment provides valuable insight into how an individual experiences and responds to sensory input - such as touch, sound, movement, or light. At Rocket Health Services, this assessment helps identify sensory processing differences that may impact attention, behaviour, and participation in everyday routines.
What Is a Sensory Profile?
The Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile or Sensory Profile 2 (for children) is a standardised questionnaire completed by caregivers, teachers, or the individual themselves. It measures how sensory preferences influence daily functioning.
What We Assess
Sensory Seeking or Avoidance: preferences for movement, touch, or sound.
Emotional and Behavioural Regulation: how sensory input affects mood and coping.
Attention and Focus: ability to remain calm and alert across settings.
Daily Functioning: how sensory needs influence learning, socialisation, and self-care.
Why a Sensory Profile Matters
Supports understanding of sensory needs in home, school, or community environments.
-
Informs sensory strategies, calm kits, and environmental adaptations.
-
Promotes emotional regulation and attention in daily tasks.
-
Provides data for NDIS reporting and therapy planning.
What to expect
The process involves completing a questionnaire and a follow-up discussion with an occupational therapist.
Families receive a comprehensive report with sensory insights, strategies, and tailored recommendations.
At Rocket Health Services, we empower families to understand and respond to sensory needs - creating environments where individuals can thrive.
